What we aim for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA on this website. Accessibility was built in rather than retro-fitted: it is easier to keep than to recover.

What we have done

  • A skip link to the main content, and a visible focus ring on every interactive element.
  • Semantic headings and landmarks, so the page structure makes sense to a screen reader.
  • Text and interface colours checked against AA contrast in both light and dark themes.
  • Animation limited to short entrance transitions, all of which stop under prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Meaningful alternative text on images, and descriptive labels on charts and diagrams.
  • Forms with real labels, error messages tied to their fields, and errors announced rather than shown only in colour.

Known limitations

  • The route map and radar chart are visual summaries. Each carries a descriptive label, but the underlying figures are not yet offered as a table. We intend to add that.
  • TODO: complete an independent audit, including testing with screen readers and at 400% zoom, before launch.

Telling us about a problem

If something here is hard to use, please tell us at hello@ecomcity.co.uk. Describe the page and what went wrong, and we will reply within five working days. Reports of accessibility problems are treated as bugs, not feedback.
